Siddhartha Kunti

Siddhartha Kunti (SK) is a digital art pioneer, he focuses on using advanced chemistry, software and olfactive technology to create immersive artworks that make scent and the invisible world of molecules around us visible.
Artistic & professional development:
3D & Design: In 2011 SK joined the 3D printing industry where he assisted leading brands (Nike, McLaren, Bjarke Ingels group…) and pioneering creatives (Pierre Leclerc (Citroën), Iris Van Herpen…) to develop and design innovative concepts using 3D printing and he was part of the team that brought 3D printing to the V&A under guidance of Murray Moss. Working alongside such visionaries further shaped SK’s artistic DNA. A chance encounter with the legendary car and industrial designer, Frank Stephenson, exposed SK to the concept of biomimicry (design based on biology). Since then SK has always looked to nature as the ultimate source of beauty and inspiration.
Digitization of scent/flavour: In 2018 SK was spearheading a team to develop an AI solution for surgery improvement when he thought of applying the power of technology to one of his personal passions: food and beverages. He wanted to understand where flavour comes from so he rented a GC-MS machine (Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry), taught himself how to operate it and his exploration of scent digitisation started.
His first digital work, Origins molecular symphony, is the culmination of all elements from his professional & artistic career: 3D modelling and design, the digitization of scent, and traditional craftsmanship. Throughout the years SK has explored diverse artistic media including spray painting, the Japanese art of Kintsugi, and 3D modeling. The Origins collection blends art and technology, showcasing both artistic and scientific innovation.
Studio Siddhartha Kunti
SSK was founded with the simple idea to blend art and technology, creating innovative work through creative collaborations that inspire and uplift.
5 Operating principles:
1. At Studio SK, we undertake pioneering and unique projects that blend art and technology.
2. Our approach is collaborative, we work alongside trailblazers in their fields through creative collaborations.
3. We also believe in giving back to artistic and impact projects by donating a percentage of our profits.
4. By combining technology with traditional craftsmanship, we showcase nature’s beauty in innovative ways
5. We blend the digital realm with the physical world
Origins Molecular Symphony
Olfactory Epistemology and the Digital Archive: Visualizing the Invisible Signature of Scent and aroma. The Origins Molecular symphony collection explores the intersection of molecular data, sensory perception, and digital art through the lens of Siddhartha Kunti’s of blending traditional heritage with technological advancement. Drawing from Aristotelian concepts of multisensory truth and contemporary neurological science, Kunti’s work translates the complex, invisible chemical composition of aroma into three-dimensional digital sculptures and data visualizations. The first project his studio focused on was Whisky. Chemical analysis (Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry) of 830 spirits samples from around the world (predominantly Whisky) generated 65.000 lines of data. Using 3D modeling software packages, the data was transformed into unique digital sculptures that provide the viewer a glimpse into the world of molecular chemistry. Nanotech scent cards let viewers smell the molecules they see on screen, thus making the art immersive and something people can engage with. The project challenges traditional sensory hierarchies, proposing a framework where olfaction is not merely experienced but actively decoded, archived, and visualized. This artistic-scientific methodology contributes to a pioneering domain of digital cultural preservation and expanded sensory perception within the digital arts.
